Frequently Asked Questions
NAV-CO2 systems use liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) as a propellant. NAV-CO2 systems combine alcohol-based sanitizing solutions with a heated stream of CO2 liquid to create a vapor capable of penetrating small crevices and gaps. As CO2 and atomized alcohol evaporate completely at room temperature, no residue remains. CO2 displaces oxygen, eliminating one of the elements needed to support combustion. Sanitizing chemicals such as quaternary ammonium can be added to alcohol based sanitizers to extend the killing time on surfaces. NAV-CO2 systems are used to sanitize contact surfaces where individuals may become infected. Hand washing and sanitizing surfaces with alcohol-based solutions are effective methods for the prevention of nosocomial infection
NAV-CO2 was pattented by Biomist Inc. and Illinois Corporation that developed the first U.L. approved NAV-CO2 system
In the event that you need to sanitize a large area quickly you will want to avoid having to take the entire system to a shop to have it refilled.
No. Atomizing a chemical not specifically designed for NAV-CO2 applications can result in injury, and damage to NAV-CO2 systems.
Not recomended. Our tanks are made of aluminum to reduce weight, they are cleaner, and have other features necessary for safe and reliable performance of your system. Sanisys offers these tanks at a competitive price.
Sanisys offers several sanitizing products for NAV-CO2 systems. Your Sanisys representitive can help you select the best sanitizer for your requirements. Our customers typically use their Biomist Sanitizing System for the control of MRSA, norovirus, salmonella, lysteria, E. coli, influenza, tuberculosis, HIV.
Absolutely. The Biomist Power Sanitizing System propels a nonflammable mist of concentrated alcohol up to 15 feet with a point-and-spray atomizer. Alcohol’s antimicrobial properties are well known, and our system eliminates its flammability by using CO2 to encase the alcohol vapor. Biomist Formula D2 is an EPA-approved hospital-grade disinfectant that’s tuberculocidal, virucidal, fungicidal, and is strong enough to kill Norovirus. It’s a pre-mixed solution of isopropyl alcohol and quaternary ammonium compounds. It dries in minutes, so no wiping or residual cleanup is required. The swirling mist penetrates into cracks and crevices where pathogens hide. Disinfecting areas beyond physical reach such as ceiling vents. Biomist Formula D2 is non-corrosive, so it’s perfect for disinfecting non-critical devices and sensitive electronic equipment like electrocardiogram machines, computers, telephones, and keyboards. Biomist is also safe for use in food-processing areas and cafeterias.
